The senate is the leadership champion of the university and its made up of experts in various fields. Their role is to:
>Approve the awarding of University degrees, and honorary ones;
>Setting the academic regulatory framework;
>Maintaining the quality and standards of the University’s awards;
>Setting the high level policy and strategy on learning, teaching and curriculum development;
>Commenting on draft Resolutions;
>Regulating the conduct of students of the University (via the Code of Student Conduct);
>Communicating policies approved by Senate or Senate committees;
